F**k the republicans—but they are the more effective party

I decided to include the above photos (which I took during and after the 2020 Oregon wildfires) in this post, because I see some parallels between the wildfires and the need for the Democrats to burn away its polite adherence to norms. Screw it, let’s get things done.

Without question, the Republican Party is evil. But they have proven themselves to be the more effective political party. They have proven this by fully supporting the philosophy of The Ends Justify the Means.

My hope is that the elected Democrats wake up and jump in the mud too. Why? Because the most important Democratic goals — such as universal health care, living wages, reparations, reversing global warming, police accountability, ending systemic racism, and so on — are all good, not evil. So let’s get them done by playing by the Republican rules—that is, by wallowing in nasty political strategies too. Sadly, it’s come to this.
